Orthotics
Orthotic care encompasses the assessment, design, fabrication, and fitting of orthoses—custom devices such as braces, splints, and shoe inserts that support and improve the function of limbs or the spine. It involves a comprehensive approach, integrating biomechanical principles with patient-specific needs to enhance mobility, correct alignment, and alleviate pain. Orthotists work closely with patients to ensure the devices are tailored precisely, providing ongoing support and adjustments as necessary to optimize comfort and effectiveness.
